2023 Symposium on Spirituality and the Environment Nov 12

2023 Symposium on Spirituality and the Environment Nov 12

From Moses to Greta: Leadership Lessons for Facing Up to Climate Change

Join Congregation Har HarShem for our 2023 Symposium on Spirituality and the Environment Sunday November 2nd at 1pm. It is free and open to all. We will have a keynote from an activist in the Jewish community, and then a panel discussion about activism, advocacy, and next steps to live out our values.

The annual Symposium focuses on bringing people together to explore perspectives on environmentalism from faith and spiritual traditions. We bring forward teachers, academics, faith-based activists in dialogue and shared learning. Our hope: greater understanding leading to greater engagement in acts of environmental protection and justice.

Learn more about the speakers and RSVP here to attend in person.

This program will also be livestreamed on the Congregation Har Harsher YouTube channel

The Mountain View United Methodist Church Green Team in Boulder invites you to join in this interactive talk with Michael Richardson of Rivers & Mountains GreenFaith on how you can reflect your vaith values through your financial choices.

All are welcome!

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 12 9am-10am MST

If you bank or have credit cards with Chase, Citi, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, U.S. Bank or other major Wall Street banks — or if you insure your home and/or auto with Liberty Mutual, Travelers, All-State, GEICO, State Farm, some of your money is likely being used to fund, insure or invest in climate destruction.

Learn how to find regional and local community banks, credit unions and credit cards and local, small insurance companies to fund local ventures — not fossil fuel projects.

Divesting from institutions that fund fossil fuels and investing in local communities and renewable clean energy instead is one of the most powerful climate actions we can take. All are welcome!
